Unaffordable Auto Insurance

Insurance companies love to place the blame anywhere but where it belongs, themselves.  When Nevadans' rates went up with no accidents and no tickets, they said it the Supply Chain and increased costs for parts and labor all of the sudden.  With all of the newly residents to our state and to Las Vegas, it's certainly a lot busier, but come on!  Is there any real justification for these kinds of increases with more to come?  Where will it end for people who don't deserve it?  It won't, unless someone does something to stop it.

How many accidents resulting in injury and death are related to endless detours and orange barrels ineffectively placed in our path?  The Department of Public Works in Clark County, along with the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) are in charge of overseeing construction and maintenance of roads and freeways in Las Vegas and Nevada, but there are so many other reasons and ways the auto insurance industry uses against us all.  They use every trick in the book to raise your rates and keep them high.  One of the most egregious causes are Personal Injury settlements that are out of control and disproportionately sought by hungry attorneys looking for the next big score.

Insurance companies use your Credit Score & History, Income Level, Zip Code, Marital Status, Gender, Mileage, Age, in addition to Accidents, Driving Habits, and Driving History to keep you paying the highest premiums possible.  When I transitioned my gender and was able to finally change my gender marker on my driver's license, my rates increased immediately, as a result.  The insurance company didn't have any issue recognizing my gender transition whatsoever as it turns out.  My company told me they consider women a higher risk in Nevada.  The costs are already untenable for people to endure for much longer.  Federal Legislation can address this and stop the bleeding, it's not just a Nevada problem.  It's nationwide issue.
